Gilbert Training Balls come two standard levels and a variety of colors and designs with a combination of cost, quality, performance, and longevity in mind. They are designed to withstand a normal season's worth of training with regular use.

Gilbert Training Ball Levels:

G-TR3000 - Essential, budget friendly training balls constructed with a 2-ply poly-cotton and cotton laminate and TRI grip technology. Designed for club, school, and junior rugby.

G-TR4000 - A high level training ball extensively tested for incredible durability. Constructed with 3-ply backing material, Hydratec moisture barrier, and TRI grip technology. This ball is slightly heavier than the 2-ply training balls to more accurately mimic the weight of a match ball. Designed for all teams and players who require a high quality, ultra durable training ball - from top schools and serious clubs to professionals.

All Training Balls Feature:

  • Brand: Gilbert logos and branding, along with the signature trademark Gilbert ellipses, signify authenticity and quality.
  • TRI Grip: Gilbert's patented triangular surface grip pattern which allows for longer wearing grip and more surface area contact with the ball when handling.
  • Materials: Training balls are made with a higher percentage of synthetic rubber which makes them a more robust ball able to withstand the wear and tear of regular use during rugby training.
  • Craftsmanship: Hand-stitched to guarantee top-quality performance and longevity.
  • Valve Placement: Training balls feature a valve placement in the middle of one panel, rather than on the seam as seen on match balls. Panel valve placement allows for a much more affordable price-point for teams who need dozens of training balls, while only sacrificing a slight drop in kicking and flight accuracy.

*Shipping Note: May ship deflated. See "Ball Size & Care Guide" tab for inflation instructions.
